About Today’s Photos

Usually when Gloman packs his suitcase, Katie and Waffles are right there ready to help. But today, when he started gathering up his camera gear and t shirts, Katie all of a sudden got a little frisky. So frisky in fact, she launched into one of her most spirited pole dances ever.
Perhaps it was her way of trying to charm Gloman into staying. And it was a valiant effort. But sadly, he’s catching an early morning flight and will be back in MN in time for breakfast.
Not to worry though…he’s coming back in just a couple of weeks to celebrate their wedding anniversary. And the anniversary of when Katie was adopted.
Travel safe, Gloman! We love you!

More and More of Waffles to Love

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss, check out me and Gloman. He said he’s super happy to see me. And that I get more and more handsome every day.
KATIE:  More and more handsome every day? That’s not what I heard, Waffles. Try, “there’s more and MORE of YOU every day
WAFFLES:  That’s what I said. There’s more and more of my handsomeness every day.
KATIE:  And your daily sampling of my breakfast has absolutely nothing to do with this “more and more” of you?
WAFFLES:  NO.  Sometimes I sample your dinner too.

 About Today’s Photos

Gloman arrived in Colorado on Friday and it took only a few seconds for Katie and Waffles to welcome him home with open paws and soft meows. Waffles and Gloman have been busy catching up on fetch tournaments and laptime. Katie spends her time stretching out in sunpuddles with him, chatting up a storm as they talk about life, love and managing Waffles.
Earlier Today, Glogirly and Gloman enjoyed a spin through Rocky Mountain National Park. It’s a gorgeous drive and although they’re usually taking photos of the scenery and animals, today they attempted to get a selfie of the two of them. And Glogirly’s thumb.

KATIE:  I’ve got to hand it to you, Waffles. That poem of yours, as lame as it was, really worked.
WAFFLES:  What poem?
KATIE:  The one to Gloman? You know, roses are red…

WAFFLES:  It DID??? So he’s really bringing me a bucket of chicken all the way from Minnesota? I hope they let him bring gravy on the plane. Do you think he’ll get extra crispy or–
KATIE:  Enough already with the chicken and gravy, Waffles. The good news is Gloman’s coming home to Colorado next week.

WAFFLES:  What do you mean, enough already with the chicken and gravy? There’s never enough chicken and gravy.
KATIE:  Chicken is Waffles’ shiny object. He just can’t look away.
Homecoming
When we posted Waffles’ love poem to Gloman on our blog Wednesday, we honestly didn’t think he’d be able to come and visit this month. He’s already got plans to be here early in September, and with things being super busy, August wasn’t looking good.
But before Glogirly had her morning tea, we got an email with the good news. Gloman’s coming home for a long weekend next week! YAY!
Waffles may be fixated on food now, but once Gloman is here we’re certain it’s going to be a lap-love-fest.
But the most touching part of Gloman’s homecoming is Katie. Once the door opens and she hears his voice, her ears will perk up and she’ll come trotting over to him with the happiest spring in her step. She’s a CatDaddy’s girl.

WAFFLES:  Gloman is trying to come out to Colorado and visit us again. I really miss his lap and the Boss really misses the rest of him. Glogirly said I should make him a poem. So here goes.

WAFFLES:  Roses are red.  Violets are…

WAFFLES:  Uh, Boss? What are violets again?

KATIE:  Blue, Waffles. Violets are blue.

WAFFLES:  But what’s a violet? I mean, is it like chicken? Or turkey?

KATIE:  Would you seriously eat a blue chicken???

WAFFLES:  Depends. Extra crispy?

KATIE:  This is a pretty lame poem, Waffles.

WAFFLES:  Ok, sorry Boss. I’ll start over.

Roses are red.
Violets are blue.
Chicken is GOLDEN.
Like my love for you.

I love you like chicken, Gloman!

About Today’s Photos
Today’s pics are a flashback from 2015. Waffles was modeling his Valentines Day tie and we were still living in our Minneapolis townhouse. He was only three years old and still looked a little kitten-ish. He may be all grown up now, but he’s still a kitten at heart.

What Kind of Car is Your Cat?

WAFFLES:  *daydreaming*
KATIE:  What…are you going to lay around, parked in that chair all day, Waffles?
WAFFLES:  NO. It’s not like I’m lazy or anything.
KATIE:   No? Because I’ve walked by that red chair five times already and you’ve barely moved.
WAFFLES:  Fine. Is this better?
If Cats were Cars
Waffles is two-speed cat. He’s either racing around at 100 cat miles per hour while yodeling at the top of his lungs, or he’s practically comatose. There’s just not much in-between. He’s a little like a muscle car that needs a new muffler.
Katie, on the other hand, purrs like a well-tuned engine on a six-speed Porsche and is graceful at any speed and every turn.
Both are a fun ride!

Cats & Ladders #WafflesWednesday

WAFFLES:  Hey Boss! How many cats does it take to change a light bulb?

KATIE:  I don’t know, Waffles. One crazy enough to climb a ladder and one to call for help when you can’t get down?

WAFFLES:  HA-HA, Boss. Very funny.
WAFFLES:  I don’t need no stinkin’ help getting down.

WAFFLES:  Uh, Boss?  BOSS?
WAFFLES:  BOSS!!!

About Today’s Post
Today’s #WafflesWednesday post is one of our favorites from 2015. Two years later and Waffles is still obsessed with ladders. But our ceilings are a LOT higher in Colorado.
WAFFLES:  Boss?
KATIE:  You’re on your own, Waffles.
